It's Been a While!

It's not easy remembering to keep up with this thing! There hasn't been too much going on, but I'll give a few updates.

Jake started wrestling again. He is at the school practicing every night until 6:15. There are matches (meets?) every Tuesday and Thursday and Craig, Madeline, and I love going to watch. Jake won on Tuesday so it was very exciting! It figures that Craig was at school and missed it. Grandad goes to most of the matches and I told him before Jake wrestled that Jake was sure to win since I forgot my camera and I was right. LOL!

There's not much new going on with Madeline. We will be signing her up for softball soon. She did t-ball the last two years and graduates to actual softball this year. I guess they us a pitching machine for her age group. Madeline always says things that crack me up. We were at the grocery store last week and were buying cupcakes. She told me she wanted to get the green ones for "cloverleaf day". It was adorable!

Charlie- Well, let me just say that little boy keeps me BUSY! He is such a Momma's boy. I was told over and over again when I was pregnant that the bond between a mother and son is amazing and everyone who said that was right. It's awesome! He is now trying to crawl. He will get up on his hands and knees and try with all he has, but just can't go. I know I'm in for a world of trouble when he starts crawling, but it is sad to watch him try to crawl and then cry because he gets so frustrated. Soon, I know. He cut his two bottom teeth about a month and a half ago and I think the top ones may be coming in. We had a hard time getting him to eat baby food, but I wasn't concerned because he doesn't really need it, but last week he finally started eating. He LOVES prunes! I can't even stand the smell when I'm feeding hime, but he tears them up! I can't believe my baby boy is 7 months old. :-(

Craig is working temporarily for the health department. It's nice for him to get out and work while waiting to hear from the union. He goes to school every Tuesday night and every third Saturday. He has been doing it for almost 5 years now and only has a couple months left! He can go take the test to get his plumbing license any time now. I think it's in or near Springfield so I'm thinking maybe a weekend away for the whole family is in order!

I'm still home taking care of Charlie. I watch Becky's kids during the week (Nolan three days and Ali and Evan after school two days) which I love. I never really spent that much time with them and now I get to see them all the time. Not too much going on with me.

I'm really excited about April 3! Ali, my niece, is in the choir at her school. They are singing the national anthem at the Milwaukee Admirals hockey game that night! When I found out about it, I thought it would be cool to get a group together to go to the game. We have 34 people going! How fun! We have a block of seats really close to the ice. I can't wait! I'm a little bummed that Craig and Jake can't go because there's a big city wrestling tournament that night and the following day.

I think that's about it. I will try to update more often, I promise! I will post some pictures a little later.

An Answer to our Prayers!

I cannot even begin to tell you how relieved we are. As most of you know, Craig and I both lost our jobs in October. Craig is in the union and he will eventually be hired somewhere, but right now there is no work. I am going to stay home and take care of the Charlie Monster and all the other at home stuff.

We have been doing pretty well financially since he's been off, but we pretty much have money for bills and that's it. Craig just decided in the last couple weeks to look for a part time job to bring in a little extra money.

Becky and I started attending a new church a few weeks ago and I have been writing prayer requests for work for Craig. (I will tell you all about the church at a later time- It's great!) We got a phone call from Craig's old boss at the health department where he worked for 7 years. He needed some work done and wants Craig to do it. This is great! Then, they got to talking and it turns out there is a temporary position open and Craig applied. It would be doing the same thing he used to do there.

We got a call the same night saying that Craig got the job!! It will be nice for him to be able to get out of the house. I think he's been getting a little stir crazy. This is such a blessing. I cannot tell you how happy we are.

Is it a coincidence that this came about right after I started praying for it and asking others to do the same? I think not!

I know you can't tell, but here's Craig hard at work.

Rub-a-dub-dub

I guess I'll just jump right in here.

Let me start by saying that I'm so happy with my bathroom. Craig started remodeling it 2.5 years ago and besides a few minor details, it's done! I will have to take some pictures one day soon. Anyway, I am finally able to use the tub to bathe Charlie instead of the sink. That makes my life so much easier. Plus, Madeline thinks it's the coolest thing in the world that she can take a bath with her brother. Here are some pictures from tonight. Madeline is not in them for obvious reasons.

Finally starting a blog!

I set this up in October and completely forgot about it! I am still trying to figure out how this whole thing works, but wanted to let everyone know about it. I will write soon! I know you're all on the edge of your seats!
